Sikander Sehra
The Sikander Sehra plays on the tradition of a groom's veil, originating from North India, where grooms adorn their faces with veils as they gallop on a horse through the streets with their friends and family making their way to the bride. The sehra has been made from everything like fresh jasmine and roses, cardamom strings or elaborate strings of jewels encrusted with precious pearls and stones. The Sikander sehra follows in the tradition of the latter, akin to the the customs of the Mughal era.
The sehra tying is usually part of an intimate ceremony, where fathers, brothers and close family come together to tie the sehra on the groom as the final touch before he leaves for the night.
Here, the Sikander sehra has been made with silver, with each bead and stone carved individually. The sehra is customisable as can be seen on Shereen, and you can add and remove the strings of beads to customise it in different ways.
This product is handmade, and your custom order will take a minimum of 2-3 weeks to be delivered to you. We can customise the beads, stones and colours for you also.
